Coloma Alumnae Association – COGA 2018-12-03T08:43:06+00:00

COGA is Coloma’s alumnae association.  The acronym stands for Coloma Old Girls’ Association but don’t take the description literally as you don’t have to be old to join our organisation!  Anyone who has been a pupil of Coloma is eligible to join our club.  Whether you left this year or thirty years ago, there is no difference and you will be very welcome.

Each year we hold a reunion luncheon at the school.  2019 will see the 150th anniversary of Coloma so we plan to make our annual reunion very special.  The event will be held on Saturday 27 April.  Save the date in your diary and tell your old Coloma friends.  Make 2019 the year you choose to come back to renew contact with people you haven’t seen for years.  Full details of how to book tickets will be published early in 2019.  Check back with this web page for all the up to date information.  We are expecting record attendances, so don’t miss out.

The traditional programme for the day starts with Mass in the Chapel at 11.30am. A Prosecco reception and sit-down luncheon will follow.  We are looking for a range of afternoon entertainment from past pupils so please get in touch with if you would be interested in performing to showcase your talents.

The 2018 event was a great success and COGA presented the first COGA Maureen Martin OBE Award to Year 9 pupil, Sophie Rayner.  Sophie was awarded the prize because she is a hard-working and enthusiastic pupil who likes to stretch and challenge herself to develop her learning. Outside of lessons Sophie is a young girl who will go out of her way to be helpful and kind to others including staff and her peers. She is always cheerful and has a positive outlook on life in general and school in particular. She always attempts to do the right thing and she is truly deserving of the prize. In an act of true selflessness, Sophie decided to use the prize money to help raise funds for charity. Sophie’s mother, Jennifer, is a Coloma Old Girl herself and Sophie’s younger sister started at Coloma in September 2018. COGA will be presenting this award annually to a Year 9 pupil who has gone above and beyond the call of duty and puts others first. COGA created the award to mark the tremendous contribution to the school by retired Headteacher, Maureen Martin OBE.

If you aren’t already a COGA member, watch this space or follow us on Facebook: We aren’t recruiting new members at the moment as the renewal date for subscriptions starts in the New Year.   So, contact us after Christmas and we will let you know the details.

In the meantime, if you need further information, you can telephone Chair, Suzy Stoyel, on 07702 039611 or email Suzy at
