On Wednesday 11th May, 17 students went to Croydon Arena to compete in the Year 10 Athletics Competition. Almost all the schools in Croydon were present and it was a great day of 11 medals total and we qualified for all 3 sprint finals. The students were a credit to the school in not only their exemplary conduct on the day, but also in pushing themselves to achieve their very best!
The team consisted of: Eulalia Abadoo, Zahra Osiade, Josephine Mugisa, Jane Merrifield, Vicky Kennefick, Sophie Eason, Hannah Fakorede, Shannon Obeng, Adanna Okafor, Stella Floriddia-Ngounou, Isabel Simons, Faith Otcherewaa-Pobie, Chloe Sequeira, Isabel Simons, Ciara Priscott, Sibella Mazuri and Maddie Marston.
- Shannon: Silver – Triple Jump
- Vicky: Bronze – 1500m
- Maddie: Gold – 800m (B)
- Stella: Silver – 800m (A)
- Zahra: Bronze – 200m
- Ciara: Gold – Long Jump (B), Silver – 300m (B)
- Sibella: Silver – Long Jump, Gold – 200m (B)
- Eulalia: Silver – Discus
- Hannah: Silver – Hurdles
We are yet to find out the overall team results but are extremely proud of every one of these fantastic athletes!
