Each year since Mrs Martin retired, COGA (Coloma Old Girls Association) has presented “The Maureen Martin Award” to a Year 9 student at their annual reunion event in April / May. In “normal” circumstances, COGA invites the winning student and her family to attend tea on the day of the reunion where she is presented with the award, plus a cash prize.
For the academic year 2019-20 year, Evie Corinaldi was nominated for The Maureen Martin award by the then Head of Year, Mrs Wake, who said, “Evie is an outstanding member of the Coloma Community. She embraces all the school has to offer, participating fully in her studies, as well as involving herself in both the musical and sporting life of the school. Evie is eminently polite and is always willing to help both staff and her fellow students. She does this without request and shows a real caring spirit. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Evie and she conducts herself with a cheery and positive manner at all times. She is truly deserving of this award as she encompasses the Coloma spirit in all her endeavours”.
Due to the pandemic, the COGA reunion event of 2020 was postponed. Instead, the certificate and prize money were presented to Evie in her form time.
This is the 3rd year that the prize has been presented: Sophie Rayner won the award in 2017-18, followed by Lucy Finch in 2018-19.
