Students Win Young Enterprise Sustainability Award

Students Win Young Enterprise Sustainability Award

On Tuesday, 13th May 2025, our Sixth Form students proudly took part in the second round of the Young Enterprise Company Programme Competition. We are delighted to announce that their team, Voices Unbound, was awarded the Young Enterprise: Transforming Futures Sustainability Award for 2025.

Congratulations to Zaynab Rahman, Aman Shahid, Manna Thomas Sabu, Aaryaa Reddy, and Nargees Hussaini for their outstanding commitment, innovation, and teamwork throughout the programme. Their impressive presentation and sustainable business model truly set them apart.

Voices Unbound focused on upcycling pre-loved clothing, generously donated by fellow students, to create prototype products that emphasised environmental responsibility. By using recycled materials, the team significantly reduced waste and promoted conscious consumerism. Their project also included a digital e-book, which not only showcased their journey and impact but also helped reduce the use of paper.

In keeping with their commitment to sustainability, the team is donating 100% of their profits to TRAID, a UK charity dedicated to tackling clothing waste. TRAID collects, repairs, and resells second-hand clothing to fund global social and environmental initiatives, reduce landfill waste, and support underpaid workers and communities around the world.

Well done to our wonderful students who have truly showcased our Coloma values; your compassion for others, determination to succeed, wisdom in your choices, and integrity throughout this project are deeply inspiring. You have demonstrated what it means to be guided by faith, driven by purpose, and committed to making a meaningful difference in the world.
