The Local Governing Body, acting through its Admissions Committee, will admit pupils each year at age 11 without regard to aptitude or ability. Coloma welcomes applications from throughout the community, regardless of faith or background; however, Applicants need to be aware that the Admissions Policy determines the order in which places are offered. when there is over-subscription.

Admissions Policies

In accordance with the School Admissions Code 2021, the governing body has determined the admission arrangements for Years 7 to 11 and Sixth Form entry to Coloma in the academic year 2022-2023, with the addition of a revision to the wording of specific categories on page 1 of the Years 7 – 11 Admission Policy as detailed at points (1) and (2) below.

The main changes to the admission arrangements are:

Years 7-11

  • the definition of Category 1 has been extended to include Catholic girls who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
  • the definition of Category 3 has been extended to include girls who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
  • On page 3, the procedure for making In Year applications has been updated to advise that they must be made direct to the School.

Information requested on this form is only used if the school is over-subscribed and there is a need to apply the over-subscription criteria in order to rank the applications according to the degree of commitment to Catholic religious practice. That ranking will determine the order in which offers of places are made.

Please note that the deadline for submission of the Supplementary Information Form for September 2024 Year 7 applications is Tuesday 31st October 2023.  

NOTE TO APPLICANTS:

For all applications, please ensure that you follow the application as operated by your Local Authority, ensuring your application is submitted to them at the same time. The Supplementary Information Form is not an application form for a place at Coloma.

CATHOLIC APPLICATIONS

For all applications to Year 7, please ensure that you provide a form completed by your Parish Priest together with a copy of the child’s Certificates of Baptism and First Holy Communion (where available) and submit these during completion of the online Supplementary Information Form.
